GESAR / Laboratories

Laboratories:

Gesar's laboratories work in interdisciplinary areas and are all connected to each other. Learn more about each of them.

Collaborative Laboratory of Applied Mechanics and Computational (LAMMAC)

It is the largest of GESAR's laboratories, having today a network of computers that perform the functions of development, archiving and control of the computational stock. Responsible for the development of high-level language numerical methods and simulations, LAMMAC is supplied with a cluster of ready-to-receive computational servers for scientific computing based on parallel processing.

Laboratory of Experimental Mechanics (LAME)

The Laboratory of Experimental Mechanics is a space dedicated to carrying out small-scale experiments with the aim of validating and developing mathematical models. The experiments carried out in the laboratory are essential for understanding and predicting the behavior of mechanical systems. In addition, the laboratory is a space for the development of prototypes, which allow testing and improving new ideas and concepts.

Laboratory of Microbiological Testing (LEB)

The Microbiological Testing Laboratory (LEB) is a modern, well-equipped laboratory, built to support the development of GESAR research. Today the LEB is responsible for several analyzes such as: colimetry test, BOD, COD, microorganism counting, cell density measurement by spectrophotometry, determination of total and thermotolerant coliforms, detection of enteroccocus, among others.

Fablab

Fablab

A fab lab (fabrication laboratory) is a small-scale workshop offering (personal) digital fabrication. A fab lab is typically equipped with an array of flexible computer-controlled tools that cover several different length scales and various materials, with the aim to make "almost anything", focused on prototyping.

Laboratory of Kinetic Testing (LEC)

The Kinetic Testing Laboratory (LEC) is a laboratory that contributes to the research and development of GESAR projects. The LEC is a laboratory that has devices such as TOC (Total Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Analyzer), Mass Absorption Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatograph and Ion Chromatograph. These devices allow the identification and quantification of various chemical substances. A number of qualitative, quantitative and physicochemical chemical analyzes are also carried out, which follow standards recognized as: Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT), among others.
