GESAR / Laboratories / Laboratory LEN
LEN - Laboratory of Numerical Tests
It is the largest of GESAR's laboratories, having today a network of computers that perform as functions of development, archiving and control of the computational stock. Responsible for the development of numerical methods and simulations in high level language, LEN is supplied with a cluster of computer servers ready to receive data for scientific computation based on parallel processing.
Its main purpose is to serve the research projects of Mathematical Modeling in Thermosciences. In addition, its resources are made available to students of the computational disciplines, such as Computational Methods, Computational Fluid Mechanics, Finite Element Method I and II. This laboratory was completely renovated and equipped with the help of the PED project of Furnas -Centrais Elétricas S/A.
